Marine generators are an important part of the AEM range of production.
There are mainly three-phase synchronous generators used for the main power
supply. They may be operated as shaft generators, main generators, auxiliary
generators or emergency generators. Lately, there is also a development
towards three-phase asynchronous generators, which (f. ex. on river boats)
in combination with frequency inverters generate the main power supply
system. AEM also supplies three-phase synchronous generators for
diesel-electric drives with direct supply of inverters and rectifier
bridges. Such solutions reduce the fuel consumption of the vessel
significantly while space and weight on board are optimized.
All three-phase synchronous generators are designed, constructed, built and
certified within accordance of the major classification societies.
